Thank you to our men and women of the Armed Forces!

The U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed an Armistice Day for November 11, 1919. In proclaiming the holiday, he said

“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with lots of pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations.”

End table humidor – Lauderdale

Okay, I finally made pulled the trigger and picked up a cabinet style humidor. It took some hunting but I found one a retailer here in Virginia that sales the boxes. I need to give a shout out to the Roberto Cigars in Yorktown, Virginia ( The owner worked with me and got me the box for less than any other online dealer could and gave me the option of picking it up from his shop or having it delivered.

Simple smoked rib, simply done right

Humidor – Seasoning it

It takes time, patience and a little know-how to get a new humidor ready to hold cigars. You’re trying to recreate the tropical environments where most cigars are made, and you can’t rush the process. Putting cigars into a dry humidor can ruin good smokes.

Humidor – How to select one?

Investing in a humidor is a big decision. Good humidors aren’t cheap, but there’s no point in having a bad humidor. A humidor that does not maintain a constant desired level of humidity, no matter how pretty it is, is a waste of money and cigars. Consider how wine lovers store their wine. They’re protecting an investment. Your cigars are equally valuable, and deserve a similar level of care.
